Medicine at VCM
Through the Vanuatu College of Medicine, you can study undergraduate Medicine as a school leaver or as a graduate entry student.
Australian or New Zealand citizens and Australian permanent residents who are school leavers and have sat UMAT may apply for entry into the Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery MBBS through ICARUS College. Postgraudates who have not sat UMAT or GAMSAT are also welcome to apply.
International applicants who are school leavers may also apply for entry into the Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery MBBS through ICARUS College.
No matter what level of entry, the MBBS course can be completed in 160 weeks full time study or 4,800 hours of instruction making it an ideal acclerated course for those who wish to proceed as quickly as possible to their internship years.
The Vanuatu College of Medicine pursues an inclusive entry selection method whereby the goal is to assist those genuine students who wish to pursue a career to achieve their dreams. Many medical schools have highly competitive barrier screenings eg academic, psychometric test, interview which heavily cull by exclusion, numerous otherwise future doctors of great potential. At VCM if you are detrermined to become a doctor then we are determined to support you all the way!
All students entering the medical course are required to obtain, by the end of week 80 a currently valid first aid certificate.
